Amuwo Odofin LGA fixing roads in Festac town

Festival town (A.K.A. Festac) is a Federal government estate in Lagos that has long been neglected by the Federal government since the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) moved to Abuja.

Residents have long complained about the roads and other infrastructures that have continued to deteriorate. The local government (Amuwo Odofin LGA) has been fixing roads in bits over the years but recently decided to fix all roads in the estate.

Residents have expressed happiness but some are worried because a portion 2nd avenue near 2nd gate market was fixed months ago and thereafter the LG started charging for parking around there and even those who park their vehicles inside the market, some claim that since the Local Government is receiving monthly allocation from the Federal Government, they have no reason to charge for parking in a Federal estate.

Below are pictures from ongoing and completed road repair projects

All bad roads in Festac town are being touched and we will bring updates once the roads are completed.

  1. Oh nice! This is long overdue. Festac Town should be brought back to its lost glory. Kudos to the local government chairman.
